Hasbro Promotes Stephen Davis To EVP/Chief Content Officer

Hasbro has upped veteran exec Stephen Davis to the newly created role of EVP-Chief Content Officer. He now will be responsible for developing content for Hasbro’s brands across multiple platforms. He had been president of Hasbro Studios since its 2009 launch and will continuing to oversee that Stephen DavisL.A.-based operation, the global licensing and publishing teams and in-house commercial production at Cakemix Studios. The exec also will manage Hasbro’s ongoing interest in the Discovery Family channel, together with Hasbro Brands president John Frascotti, to whom Davis will report.

Hasbro has a sizable stake in Discovery Family, which last month was rebranded from the Hub after Discovery bought some of the toy giant’s share in the network and expanded its programming focus to serve families in primetime. Under Davis, Hasbro Studios has been a major supplier of content to the kids channel that continues to showcase Hasbro content such as My Little Pony and Transformers Rescue Bots in daytime.

“Today’s appointment not only recognizes the tremendous vision and momentum that Steve has brought to Hasbro Studios and to Hasbro but also reflects the decision to closer align storytelling to the transformative work our teams are doing to bring branded play to life around the world,” Frascotti said.

Davis also will work closely with Hasbro president & CEO Brian Goldner to oversee the company’s recently announced film label, Allspark Pictures, as well as film franchises like Transformers that are produced in partnership with major studios.

Prior to joining Hasbro, Davis was CEO of Family Entertainment Group and before that had stints at InfoSpace, Granada America, Carlton America and Hamdon Entertainment.
