Screen Media Nabs Kodi Smit-McPhee Drama ‘All The Wilderness’

Screen Media Films has acquired North American rights to All The Wilderness, the SXSW drama formerly known as The Wilderness of James. Writer-director Michael Johnson made his debut with the pic about James (Smit-McPhee), an emotionally troubled boy whose connections with a mysterious kid (Evan Ross) and a fellow patient of his shrink’s (Isabelle Fuhrman) help him wrestle with the death of his father. Danny DeVito and Virginia Madsen also star in the film which also boasts a score by Jonsi and Alex of Sigur Ros; Screen Media is planning a day and date release for next February.

Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling produced for Super Crispy Entertainment, while Audrey and Zygi Wilf, Nick Frenkel, and Glenn Howerton executive produced. Screen Media’s Tom Yagelski and Seth Needle negotiated the deal with CAA and Lawrence Kopeikin of Morris Yorn on behalf of the filmmakers.
