‘Walking Dead’ Producer Valhalla Adds Ex-Lionsgate Exec As TV VP

EXCLUSIVEGale Anne Hurd‘s Valhalla Entertainment is adding more muscle to its TV side with another new hire. Whitney Timmons is joining the expanding company as VP of Television. The former long time Lionsgate exec and Director of TV was most recently at Media Right Capitol. Timmons spent just over two years at MRC as Executive Director of TV and where she worked on Netflix’s House Of Cards for the indie studio, among other projects.

“As Valhalla expands, I am absolutely thrilled to welcome a talented executive like Whitney to the team,” Hurd says of Timmons joining her company. “She will bring cutting edge shows to the company through her extensive relationships with top tier talent.” Timmons will report directly to Hurd

The addition of Timmons is yet another building block for The Walking Dead EP company’s further growth into TV. In April 2012, Valhalla finalized an exclusive pod deal with Universal Cable Prods. That deal was to develop and produce projects for both cable and broadcast networks, including UCP’s NBCUniversal brethren USA and Syfy. Since then Valhalla has beefed up its TV unit or promoted from within to get in the ring with projects such as Hunters, which has a 13-episode straight-to-series order at Syfy and a pilot of a companion series to the blockbuster zombie apocalypse series from AMC. Hurd is EPing the latter along with WD‘s Robert Kirkman and David Alpert.
