Enrique Murciano, Rebecca Mader & James Callis Among Latest Pilot Cast Additions

Without a Trace alum Enrique Murciano is back at the network with a co-starring role opposite Minnie Driver in the hourlong pilot Hail Mary. The project, from Warner Bros., is a buddy P.I. show centered on Mary Beth (Driver), a suburban single mom in Atlanta who teams up with a streetwise hustler to solve crimes. Murciano will play Carlos Moreno, a detective with the Atlanta P.D. working the Major Crimes Division who went to high school with Mary Beth  and has had a crush on her ever since. He winds up being Mary Beth’s de facto mentor in criminology, although he yearns for something more. In addition to Hail Mary, Murciano, who was pursued for several pilots this season, just landed a multi-episode arc on CBS’ hit NCIS as Garza, new love interest for Ziva (Cote de Pablo). He is with Gersh and Untitled.

Lost alumna Rebecca Mader, who is recurring on ABC’s freshman drama No Ordinary Family, is staying at the network but switching to comedy with a role in ABC’s comedy pilot Work It. The  multicamera project, from Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen, is about out-of-work car salesmen Lee and Angel (Amaury Nolasco) who realize that it is now a woman’s world and decide that in order to find work again and succeed they are going to have to dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceuticals reps. Mader, repped by Innovative and Mosaic, will play a bitchy and pseudo-sophisticate drug sales rep with a know-everything attitude.

Battlestar Galactica alum James Callis is reuniting with the series’ developer-executive producer Rob Moore on Moore’s NBC pilot 17th Precinct. The Deep End star Matt Long has also joined the Sony TV-produced project set in the fictional town of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science and revolving around the cops at the local 17th Precinct. The description of Callis’ character Jeff, a homicide detective at the 17th Precinct: slender, long dark hair, British accent, looks almost exactly like British actor Callis. Long, who recently recurred on Mad Men, will play a rookie detective. Callis is the second Battlestar Galactica co-star to join Moore on 17th Precinct, following the casting of another Brit, Jamie Bamber.

Greek alumna Amber Stevens has boarded Fox’s medical drama pilot Weekends at Bellevue. The project, from UMS, BermanBraun and Lisa Zwerling, centers on Ellie (Lauren Ambrose), the psychiatrist in charge of the weekend shift of Bellevue Hospital psychiatric unit. Stevens, repped by ICM and Red Baron, will play a fresh faced psychiatry intern. She will  be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man.
