NEW SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

DRAMAS

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME The Law & Order: SVU spinoff features Christopher Meloni reprising his beloved role as Elliot Stabler, who returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime after a devastating personal loss. However, the city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he’s been away, and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning. Throughout the series, we will follow Stabler’s journey to find absolution and rebuild his life, while leading a new elite task force that is taking apart the city’s most powerful criminal syndicates one by one. Dick Wolf, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski are executive producers for the series from Universal Television.

COMEDIES

THE KENAN SHOW (midseason) Kenan Thompson is recently widowed host of Atlanta’s No. 2 morning show who struggles to balance his job, his young daughters and a father-in-law who “helps” in the most inappropriate ways. Thompson, Punam Patel, Dani Lockett, Dannah Lockett and Andy Garcia star in the single-camera series from Universal Television and Broadway Video. Jackie Clarke is writer and executive produces with Thompson, Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer. Chris Rock directed the pilot.

MR. MAYOR (midseason)Ted Danson stars as a wealthy businessman runs for mayor of Los Angeles for all the wrong reasons. Once he wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his staff and connect with his teenage daughter — all while controlling the coyote population. Bobby Moynihan, Holly Hunter, Vella Lovell and Mike Cabellon also star in the single-camera series from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, who are writers and executive producers along with EPs Jeff Richmond and David Miner. The series is from Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment, Little Stranger and Bevel Gears.

YOUNG ROCK (midseason) — Inspired by and starring Dwayne Johnson, also known by his wrestling name The Rock, the single-camere series will chronicle his formative years. The series comes from Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions and Fierce Baby Productions and is written and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang, with Johnson, Jennifer Carreras, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Brian Gewirtz also executive producers.
