Christine McVie, the vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist for Fleetwood Mac, died Wednesday at age 79.
The English musician, born in Bouth, Lancashire, found success with the blues band Chicken Shack as a pianist in 1967 and singing background vocals. She would go on to release a solo album under her maiden name Christine Perfect before marrying John McVie in 1968. She then joined his band Fleetwood Mac in 1970, writing many of its popular ’70s and ’80s songs including “Don’t Stop”, “Everywhere” and “Little Lies.”
