The 2023 Oscars Parties & Events Photo Gallery: Elton John, Governors Ball, Vanity Fair & More

The Champagne carpet officially rolled out at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood for the 95th Academy Awards, kicking off the final stretch of Oscar pre-parties and events as Hollywood gears up for March 12.

The food, beverages and décor of this year’s Governors Ball, the Academy’s official post-Oscars celebration, was revealed Tuesday at a press conference by Wolfgang Puck, who crafted this year’s menu with Eric Klein, VP of culinary at Wolfgang Puck Catering.

Nominees, winners and guests will be treated to a variety of tray-passed dishes, created by 120 chefs in the kitchen, from smoked salmon Oscars matzah and WP signature pizzas to crispy Moroccan lamb cigars.

Elton John returned to hosting his annual 31st Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, March 12th and will be by joined by Eric McCormack and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as special guests, with singer-songwriter/actress Rina Sawayama set to perform.

The stars party hopped from the Governors Ball to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party and many more. Private after-parties were held for Warner Bros at Ysabel in West Hollywood for Elvis, Banshees of Inisherin for Searchlight Pictures at Craig’s and at Motherwolf for Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick.

On Wednesday, March 8th, Vanity Fair and TikTok celebrated Vanities: A Night for Young Hollywood at Mes Amis in Hollywood. The private event was co-hosted by Halle Bailey, Paul Mescal and Julia Garner. Other rising stars who attended were Megan Stalter, Rachel Sennott, Danielle Macdonald, Lukas Gage, Beatrice Grannò and many more.

Essence hosted its 16th-anniversary Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday, March 9th, recognizing the extraordinary achievements of the industry’s most inspiring Black women who are helping diverse Black stories to be told. The event marked this momentous occasion by highlighting “The Black Cinematic Universe” and honoring luminaries: Gina Prince-Bythewood, Tara Duncan, Danielle Deadwyler, Dominique Thorne, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Other guests included Quinta Brunson, Daniel Kaluuya, Ruth Carter, Ryan Coogler, Teyana Taylor, Lena Waithe, Yara Shahidi, Storm Reid, Niecy Nash-Betts, and many more.

Australian Consul-General Los Angeles Ambassador Jane Duke, Ausfilm, Screen Australia and Australians in Film (AiF) kicked off Oscar weekend where Australia is a front-runner with nominations in ten categories on Wednesday evening. The event was held at the Chateau Marmont and attended by Cate Blanchett, Baz Luhrmann, Mandy Walker, Catherine Martin, Gail Berman and Lachlan Pendragon.

Cate Blanchett had a busy night as she also co-chaired with founder Livia Firth, Viola Davis, Tom ford, Simu Liu and Simone Ashley at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards held at Neuehouse, Los Angeles.

On Friday, March 10th, Vanity Fair hosted A24’s Everything Everywhere All at Once cast Harry Shum Jr., Jenny Slate, Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, and Tallie Medel and Director Daniel Scheinert at the Mandarin Oriental Residences, Beverly Hills to celebrate the film’s success.

Jaz Sinclair, Sophia Bush, Raven-Symoné, Lake Bell, Jordana Brewster, Christina Hendricks, Marlee Matlin, Carlacia Grant and more attended the 16th Annual Women in Film Oscar Nominee Celebration at the NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles on Friday, March 10th.

WME also ushered in Oscars weekend at one of Los Angeles’ most historic properties, the Hearst Estate in Beverly Hills. The soiree at the famous mansion featured in The Godfather and Beyonce’s “Black is King” visual film was hosted by WME co-chairmen Christian Muirhead and Richard Weitz and attended by Oscar nominated clients Austin Butler, Baz Luhrmann, Ruben Östlund, Sarah Polley, Alfonso Cuaron, Eric Warren Singer, and “All That Breathes” feature doc director Shaunak Sen.

A star-studded host committee, Academy Awards nominees and presenters, came together on March 11, 2023, for MPTF’s 21st annual ‘Night Before’ benefit. Co-Chaired by Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, George Clooney, andE mma Thomas & Christopher Nolan, the annual event raised over $4.5 million, totaling over $100 million in the event’s history.

The 2023 host committee included a lineup of talent, including Austin Butler, Hong Chau, Kerry Condon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, Paloma & Vin Diesel, Susan & Robert Downey, Jr., Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Brendan Gleeson, Salma Hayek Pinault, Brian Tyree Henry, Catherine Martin and Baz Luhrmann, Paul Mescal, Bill Nighy, Echo and Ke Huy Quan, Andrea Riseborough & Karim Saleh, Diane Warren, Rita Wilson & Tom Hanks, and Michelle Yeoh.

Also on Saturday, March 11th, CHANEL and Charles Finch hosted their 14th annual Pre-Oscar Awards dinner in Beverly Hills.  Actors, musicians, directors, producers, writers all gathered for an intimate dinner at the iconic Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Guests included Kristen Stewart, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Garfield, Andrea Riseborough, Ariana DeBose, Brie Larson, Beatrice Grann, Danielle Deadwyler, Daniel Kaluuya, Jonathan Majors, Kerry Condon, Michael B. Jordan, Lily James, Idris Elba, Riz Ahmed, Sarah Polley, Sigourney Weaver, Sofia Boutella, Tessa Thompson, Darren Aronofsky and many more.
