The WarnerMedia-backed cable network is considering a reboot of the series, which ran for three seasons and over 100 episodes, ending in 2010.
The move, first broken by Deadline sister publication TV Line, could see In Treatment filmed under COVID-19 production protocols, given that it is relatively pandemic-proof, featuring two characters talking at a socially distanced degree.
The series is based on an Israeli format, Be Tipul, created by The Affair’s Hagai Levi. The U.S. version, which was produced and developed by Rodrigo Garcia, starred Gabriel Byrne as psychotherapist Paul Weston, speaking to his clients as well as his own therapist.
Other actors featured included Dianne Wiest, who played psychotherapist Gina Toll, as well as patients played by Dane DeHaan, Blair Underwood, Melissa George, Mia Wasikowska, Michelle Forbes, Alison Pill, Irrfan Khan, Debra Winger and Amy Ryan.
The show was produced by Closest to the Hole Productions, Leverage Management and Sheleg.
