Adam McKay’s Vice and the Aretha Franklin doc Amazing Grace have been added to the Berlin Film Festival line-up as the festival finalized its competition and special program.
The Big Short director’s Dick Cheney feature will play out of competition and will have its German premiere at the festival, while the Franklin doc, which was shot in 1972 by Sydney Pollack, will also play out of competition during its European premiere.
Other titles added include L’adieu à la nuit (Farewell to the Night), which stars Catherine Deneuve and will have its world premiere, Nadav Lapid’s Synonymes and Chinese feature Yi miao zhong (One Second).
Peter Lindbergh – Women Stories, by Jean Michel Vecchiet, will have its world premiere as part of the Berlinale Special at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, while there will be Berlinale Special Galas at the Friedrichstadt-Palast for Photograph from Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox) and rock doc You Only Live Once – Die Toten Hosen on Tour.
