EXCLUSIVE: Studiocanal has come on board to finance The Paris Trap, a female driven thriller that Harry Bradbeer is set to direct. Written by scribe Daniel Taplitz, the story revolves around a young American woman who, while on holiday in Paris, becomes the victim of mistaken identity. She then must play the part to save her own life. The plan is to make the high-concept European thriller this summer.
Bradbeer directed the British breakout Fleabag, and directed the first episode in the first and second seasons of Killing Eve, the drama that was created by Phoebe Waller Bridge, and has star Sandra Oh winning all of the awards including the Emmy, Golden Globe and the SAG Award.
The Picture Company partners Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce the film through their overall deal with Studiocanal.
Ron Halpern and Shana Eddy will over see for Studiocanal.
Studiocanal and The Picture Company most recently teamed on the Liam Neeson drama The Commuter, and they are prepping Gunpowder Milkshake, which shoots this spring with Karen Gillan starring.
Bradbeer is repped by UTA; Taplitz by ICM Partners.
