ABC’s The Conners (1.5 demo rating, 7.731 million viewers) wrapped its first season with 8 PM’s biggest audience and No. 1 slot status in the demo (tied with NBC’s Ellen’s Game of Games and besting part 2 of CBS’s two-night Celebrity Big Brother debut.)
The comedy series clocked its biggest crowd since October, and its best rating in the key 18-49 age bracket since mid-November. The Conners climbed 1 million viewers, week to week, and 2/10th in the demo rating.
NBC’s This is Us (1.9, 8.116M) and Game of Games (1.6, 67.488M) were the night’s No. 1 and 2 programs in the demo. At 10 PM, NBC’s New Amsterdam (1.0, 5.807M) bested CBS’s NSIC: New Orleans (0.8, 6.659M) by 2/10th in the demo while NCIS:NO dominated NA by 832K viewers.
This is Us also topped the night in total viewers, followed by The Conners, which was ABC’s best producing program of the night in both metrics, as Kids are Alright (0.9, 4.537M), black-ish (0.8, 3.363M), Splitting Up Together (0.6, 2.629M) and 10 PM’s Rookie (0.7, 3.825M) came in steady-ish.
CBS’s Celebrity Big Brother (1.2, 4.921M) slipped off of Monday’s season starter, after which FBI (0.8, 7.374M), lacking its NCIS lead-in, also slid, to a demo season low .
Fox’s The Gifted (0.5, 1.807M) followed a Lethal Weapon repeat (0.5, 2.646M) but held steady in its demo.
CW’s The Flash (0.6, 1.863M) and Roswell, New Mexico (0.4, 1.226M) also were demo-steady compared to previous week, though Week 2 of R,NM fell 286K in total viewers.
NBC (1.5, 7.137M) finished first in both metrics. CBS (1.0, 6.318M) came in second, ahead of ABC’s 0.9, 4.318M). Fox (0.5, 2.227M) and CW (0.5, 1.544M) followed with a demo tie.
