In its return on the air after a five-week holiday break, Saturday Night Live last night averaged a 4.5 Live+same day household rating in the metered markets and a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating in the markets with local people meters. The show was hosted by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan with musical guest Greta Van Fleet.
That was off from the last original telecast of 2018, with host Matt Damon and musical guests Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus (4.8. 2.0)
Still, in metered-market households, last night’s show, which featured Alec Baldwin’s return as President Donald Trump, logged SNL’s second highest ratings since the season premiere (4.8, 2.3 with host Adam Driver and musical guest Kanye West), trailing only the Dec. 15 edition hosted by Damon.
Saturday Night Live was the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in both metered-market households and 18-49 in the local people meters, topping all primetime shows on those nets in both categories, including ABC’s primetime NBA Basketball coverage.
