Podcast network Parcast has announced its slate of new shows for the first four months of 2019, including its first scripted fiction series Mind’s Eye.
It marks an expansion beyond scripted non-fiction fare for Parcast, which is in the midst an impressive growth period. In 2018, Parcast saw a nearly 200% increase in download numbers, to 100+ million across all of its fully-owned audio productions. By the end of 2018, Parcast had 16 shows available for listeners up from five in the previous year, and the network has over 40 new shows in development for 2019. Parcast produces all of its shows in-house and owns all of its intellectual property, and has a full staff of 18 writers and producers, up 350% from this time last year.
“We are producing high quality content touching on topics that resonate with listeners around the globe. Seeing double digit growth across multiple categories tells us that it is time for us to move Parcast into the next phase of development,” said Max Cutler, Founder and CEO of Parcast. “With 2019 ahead of us, the success of Parcast is also being underlined by the growing interest of other platforms, including television.”
Parcast operates in partnership with Endeavor Audio, the talent agency’s newly created podcast division.
