In the first episode of the New Hollywood Podcast for 2019, we welcome Bumblebee star Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (pronounced “Jorj” not “Hor-hay” FYI). The up-and-coming Dominican-born actor has appeared in numerous films before running from giant robots with Hailee Steinfeld in what many people are calling one of the best movies in the Transformers franchise.
But before Lendeborg was in one of the most big-budget franchises in cinematic history, he has an impressive slate of films under his belt. On the indie side, he appeared in Creed II director (and friend of the podcast) Steven Caple Jr.’s 2016 film The Land as well as the Dave McCary dramedy Brigsby Bear. He also appeared in Greg Berlanti’s uplifting romantic comedy Love, Simon as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming. He can also be seen in the upcoming sci-fi adventure Alita: Battle Angel from Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron. Needless to say, he has a good resume.
While sitting in the hot seat at the New Hollywood Podcast, Lendeborg talked about the indie world vs. the blockbuster world. He also gave us the 4-1-1 on what is next for him, his take on rap music, and talked about his favorite Dominican dish.
