In its second broadcast The Masked Singer (2.3, 7.056M) was Wednesday’s No. 1 program for the night in the demo by a full rating point, despite slipping from previous week’s opening by 20-something percentages in demo and total viewers against stronger competition as other network’s returned to original programming.

NBC’s Chicago Fire ( 1.3, 8.077M) bested Fox’s singing competition by slightly more than a million viewers at 9 PM Wednesday hour.

ABC’s The Goldbergs spinoff Schooled (1.3, 4.771M) hung on to 100% of its mothership show’s lead-in (1.3, 5.133M) and all but 362K of its total viewers, much of which ABC recovered at 9 PM with Modern Family (1.3, 4.836M).

ABC slipped at9:30 PM with Single Parents (0.8, 3.104M), after which Match Game’s Season 4 (0.6, 2.559M) launched shy of last season’s average.

NBC’S Chicago dramas took Wednesday in total viewers; 8 PM’s Chicago Med (1.3, 8.639M) was the night’s most watched program with its biggest regular-slot crowd since last March. Med also matched its season high in the demo.

Chicago Fire was Wednesday’s No. 2 program in total viewers. At 10 PM,  Chicago P.D. (1.0, 6.905M) topped closest competitor CBS’s Criminal Minds (0.8, 4.541M) by 25% in the demo and 2.4 million viewers.

CBS kicked off the night doing its best numbers with repeats of The Big Bang Theory (1.0, 6.445M), and Young Sheldon (0.9, 5.591M), followed by SEAL Team (0.8, 5.535M).

Fox (1.7, 5.285M) topped the night in the demo, while NBC (1.2, 7.873M) handily won in total viewers, finishing second demo-wise.

CBS (0.9, 5.365M) edged Fox for No. 2 in total viewers, while ABC (1.0, 3.827M) came in third in the key age bracket.

CW (0.1, 482K) followed with repeats.
