On a quiet New Year’s Day, Fox’s Lethal Weapon (0.7, 3.368M) and The Gifted (0.5, 1.740M) returned to lead the network to No. 1 for the night in the demo, and among younger age brackets including adults 18-34 and teens…

NBC repeats tied for the nightlong demo win, including Ellen’s Game of Games encore (1.0, 4.431M) – the night’s No. 1 show in the demo.

Much in the news Lethal Weapon’s demo data was even with its most recent original and climbed 17% in total viewers. The Gifted’s original marked new series lows in both metrics. Versus its fall finale, at 8 PM on December 4, The Gifted dropped 29% in the demo and 14% in total viewers.

CBS’s reruns of NCIS (0.5, 5.439M), FBI (0.5, 5.042M) and NCIS: New Orleans (0.5, 4.399M) took every hour of primetime in overall audience.

CBS (0.5, 4.960M)  ran nearly a lap ahead of other broadcast nets for the night in total viewers, while NBC (0.6, 2.917M) and Fox (0.6, 2.554M) tied for tops in the demo.
