Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Prods. Taps Alex Brown As Production Executive

Jennifer Lopez and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas’ Nuyorican Productions has named Alex Brown Production Executive of the TV and film production company. Brown will join Lopez and Goldsmith-Thomas as producer across all of Nuyorican’s existing and upcoming projects.

Brown has been with Nuyorican for four years, working in both scripted and unscripted television, as well as the company’s movie productions. Most recently, Brown served as co-producer for STX’s feature film Second Act and producer for Seasons 1-3 of NBC’s World of Dance.

Brown began her film career as a script supervisor for various films and commercials, where she assisted talent and directors such as Keira Knightley and Wally Pfister. After wrapping her assistant job on HBO’s The Night Of in 2015, Brown began working with Goldsmith-Thomas as a production assistant. Lopez and Goldsmith-Thomas recognized Brown’s talents and promoted her until she became Associate Producer on Season 2 of Shades of Blue.

Nuyorican Productions is currently in pre-production for STX’s upcoming film, Hustlers, starring Lopez and Constance Wu. Gloria Sanchez, Benny Medina, Lopez, Goldsmith-Thomas, and Brown are behind the film, which Lorene Scafaria wrote and is directing.
