Isa Dick Hackett Inks First-Look Deal With Amazon Studios

The Man in the High Castle executive producer Isa Dick Hackett is expanding her relationship with Amazon Studios, signing a first-look deal with the studio behind the drama series. Under the pact, Hackett, via her Electric Shepherd Productions, will develop and produce new Amazon Studios original series which will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

The daughter of Philip K. Dick, on whose works The Man in the High Castle and Electric Dreams are based, Hackett is the co-founder and CEO of Electric Shepherd Productions. The company is dedicated to the stewardship and adaptation of the Philip K. Dick library, which she jointly owns with her siblings. Hackett also serves as Trustee of the Philip K. Dick Trust.

In addition to serving as executive producer on The Man in the High Castle and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, on the feature side, Hackett served as an executive producer on Adjustment Bureau (2011), based on Philip K. Dick’s short story The Adjustment Team, and is also credited for her work on Richard Linklater’s adaptation of A Scanner Darkly (2006). Through Electric Shepherd, Hackett is currently developing several additional projects for film, television and other media, with an LA based creative team led by longtime collaborator Kalen Egan.

Allegations of sexual misconduct made by Hackett against former Amazon Studios boss Roy Price contributed to Price’s resignation last year. Following the allegations, Price was suspended by Amazon and he resigned shortly thereafter.
