In the new ABC comedy Bless This MessLake Bell and Dax Shepard leave the fast-paced life of the city and exchange it for a simple life in the country. Based on the first look trailer above, all of that is a recipe for comedy, obviously.

Premiering Tuesday, April 16 at 9:30 pm ET/PT, Bless This Mess follows newlyweds Rio (Bell) and Mike (Shepard) as they make the decision to move from big city New York to rural Nebraska. After dropping everything (including their jobs and overbearing mother-in-law) to make the move from skyscrapers to farmhouses, they soon realize that the simpler life isn’t as easy as they planned. Rio and Mike must now learn how to weather the storm as they are faced with unexpected challenges in their new life as farmers.

In addition to Bell and Shepard, the cast features Ed Begley Jr. as Rudy, Pam Grier as Constance and JT Neal as Jacob. Bell co-created the show with Elizabeth Meriwether and the two are executive producers. Shepard also serves as an exeuctive producer alongside Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, Erin O’Malley, and Katherine Pope. The series is from 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios.
