The saga of the multigenerational Dunphy clan appears to be heading into a second decade. At least that’s the “feeling” Julie Bowen gets, as the two-time Modern Family Emmy winner told E!’s Busy Tonight this week.

Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy, told host Busy Philipps that she has “very positive feelings” about a potential 11th season for ABC’s Emmy-laden sitcom. ‘I think that there is [another season],” she said. “I’ve been told that there is, you know? The ink is not dry, but I have very positive feelings about it.”

ABC

Deadline reported exclusively last week that the series’ adult castmembers are close to inking new deals with producer 20th Century Fox TV for another season. Some issues remain unresolved, but Bowen, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara all are expected to return.

The comedy became a smash after winning its first of five consecutive Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2009. It missed the top 20 in the final demo rankings that season but bounced up to the top 5 in 2010-11 and remained in the top through 2015-16. The series finished 21st among 18-49 last season. It hit a season high in the demo last week.
