Endeavor, the umbrella company that holds the likes of WME, IMG and the UFC, has promoted Mark Shapiro to the newly created post of president. The longtime exec has been chief content officer at IMG since 2014, when he arrived after being CEO of dick clark productions.
During his time at Endeavor, he has helped to unify IMG’s fashion business, supported the UFC’s media rights deal with ESPN, developed formats for IMG’s events portfolio, and grew the Endeavor Global Marketing business with acquisitions across PR, experiential and advertising.
“The past four years have marked Endeavor’s most pivotal stage of growth, and Mark has played a critical role in getting us to where we are today,” Endeavor CEO Ariel Emanuel said in a release announcing the news. “Mark’s leadership, creativity and drive will help Patrick and me as we continue to scale Endeavor and realize its full potential.”

Shapiro was CEO of dcp, managing day-to-day operations. Before that he was director, president and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment, and he began his career at ESPN, where he oversaw both production and programming.
He serves on the board of directors of Live Nation Entertainment, Frontier Communications, Papa John’s International and Equity Residential.
