The CW is taking a new stab at developing Dr. Mirage, a drama series adaptation of the Valiant graphic novel, with Reign co-creator Laurie McCarthy, DMG Entertainment (Iron Man 3, Looper, Point Break) and CBS Television Studios.

Dr. Mirage is based on the graphic novel about a female paranormal investigator who can communicate with dead souls except the one she wants to reach – the love of her life.

The project was previously in development at the CW during the 2016-17 season with Annabelle scribe Gary Dauberman writing and DMG Entertainment and CBS Studios producing.

It is now being redeveloped, with McCarthy writing the adaptation based on Dauberman’s initial script.

McCarthy executive produces with Dan Mintz, founder and CEO of DMG Entertainment and DMG’s Chris Cowles. CBS TV Studios is the studio.

McCarthy co-created drama series Reign, which aired for four seasons on the CW and also was produced by CBS Studios. Dr. Mirage returns McCarthy to the supernatual drama genre, having previous served as co-executive producer on CBS’ supernatural drama series Ghost Whisperer. She also worked on CSI: Miami, Felicity and Beverly Hills, 90210.
