Condé Nast’s former EVP and general manager for digital video has joined AnyClip, a company that uses artificial intelligence to analyze stories on publishers’ websites and deliver relevant video clips.
Joy Marcus said AnyClip’s technology solves a problem for digital publishers — namely, how to deliver a stream of videos that keep users engaged. She joined the company’s board following the launch of LuminousX, a technology that automatically matches the editorial content on a site with videos in its library.
AnyClip CEO Gil Becker said this new video platform gives publishers a stream of fresh video content, while providing advertisers a brand-safe online environment to promote their products and services.
“We have the ability to provide contextual intelligence,” Becker said. “We work with advertisers like Nike or Microsoft. We provide the metadata about content in real time — we know the content is safe. They can target (consumers).”
AnyClip splits the ad revenues with the publishers.
Marcus will advise the company on upcoming product launches, and 10 years of digital media experience to expand the reach of LuminousX. She also serves as Venture Partner at Jerusalem Venture Partners (an investor in AnyClip), teaches Entrepreneurship at Princeton University, and sits on the Boards of Directors of music technology company Qwire and the non-profit New York Tech Alliance.
She previously held senior executive positions at Conde Nast, AOL/Time Warner and MTV Networks (Viacom)
