Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is finally living out his dreams of becoming an action hero. In one of the new trailers for the sixth season of the Fox-turned-NBC comedy, Peralta goes full John McClane to save the day…sort of.

The new trailer is one of three that will debut today — with one of them airing during NBC’s Sunday night NFL game between the L.A. Rams and Chicago Bears. The trailer is a blatant celebration of Peralta and action movie tropes (helicopters, explosions, searchlights, and gratuitous slow-motion) as he and the members of the Nine-Nine attempt to escape an exploding building. Of course, Peralta saves the day as his colleagues cheer “Jake!” from below and he jumps from the top of the building to a helicopter as it explodes in a blaze of glory. Cut to: the precinct. All of this was just Peralta’s action-packed fantastical ideas for a recruitment video.

In the trailer above, it ends with Peralta suggested they cut Terry (Terry Crews) in order to have the budget for his video. However, in the trailer below, it ends with Captain Ray Holt’s (Andre Braugher) very different idea for a recruitment video.
