Producers announced today that the entire Off Broadway company will make the previously announced transition to Broadway.
“We are absolutely thrilled that the entire New York premiere company will be making the journey with us to Broadway,” said lead producer Gerald Goehring. “This company has collaborated to bring Joe Iconis’ and Joe Tracz’s beautiful and universal musical to life Off Broadway this summer and we could not have been more thrilled with the outpouring of love we received from our fans around the world. The entire company cannot wait to bring the production to an even greater audience at The Lyceum in the new year.”
Be More Chill will begin previews at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 13, with an official opening set for Sunday, March 10. The musical played a sold-out limited engagement this past summer at Off Broadway’s Pershing Square Signature Center.
The Broadway cast will be: Will Roland as Jeremy, George Salazar as Michael, Stephanie Hsu as Christine, Jason Tam as The Squip, and Gerard Canonico, Katlyn Carlson, Tiffany Mann, Lauren Marcus, Britton Smith and Jason SweetTooth Williams.
In addition to the upcoming Broadway production, Be More Chill is slated for a film adaptation by Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions.
