McLalin executive produces with Eisenberg, who supervises the project, and Fleischer and Bernad via The District. ABC Studios is the studio. Elias Gertler will help oversee the project for The District.

ABC has been in the market for blue-collar, Middle America family comedies following the massive early ratings success of the Roseanne revival, since-canceled over star Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets, and the subsequent spinoff The Conners. The network also recently put in development a half-hour blue collar single mom comedy from Nashville-based comedian Dusty Slay.

McLalin wrote for the Comedy Central animated show Triptank and was previously a writers’ assistant on NBC’s Superstore, where he wrote the webisodes for season two and three along with the NBC Fall Primetime Preview. The project reunites McLalin with Fleischer and Bernad who serve as executive producers on Superstore and whose pilot Fleischer directed. Venom and Zombieland helmer Fleischer currently is directing Zombieland 2 set for release in 2019.

Eisenberg is executive producer of Showtime’s breakout hit, Golden Globe-nominated comedy series SMILF.

McLalin is repped by CAA, Lee Stobby Entertainment, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP. The District is repped by CAA and attorney Warren Dern.
