Robert Patrick, who stars in CBS’ Scorpion, is set to topline The Rising Hawk, which is being directed by Akhten Seitablaev and John Wynn in his directorial debut. It’s set in 1241 AD, and follows a rebellious Ukrainian villager who, after losing his mother in a vicious attack by the relentless Mongols, must join his father (Patrick) to unite 500 of their fellow villagers and fight against a 10,000-strong Mongolian Army.
The pic was written by Yaroslav Voitseshek and Richard Ronat and will shoot in Ukraine later this year. Jeff Rice, Raja Collins, Egor Olesov and Yuriy Karnovsky are producing.
Patrick, on his Scorpion summer hiatus, is already filming Richard Bates Jr.’s horror pic Tone Deaf alongside Silicon Valley‘s Amanda Crew. It marks the first film in a multi-year suspense/thriller genre slate deal between Circle of Confusion, Lightning Entertainment and Hindsight Media.
Patrick is repped by The Coronel Group, Gersh and attorney Jeff Frankel.
