Without a Trace and Unforgettable star Poppy Montgomery will star in and executive produce a drama series from ABC Studios International for French broadcaster M6. The untitled series is Disney’s international production division’s second global commission after the Ioan Gruffudd-fronted Australian crime drama Harrow.
The English-language series is a “sexy” and “action-packed” crime drama that sees Montgomery play Cat Chambers, a thief-turned-fixer for the governor of a stunning and seductive Pacific Island archipelago. Impulsive, reckless and irresistible, Cat’s less-than-perfect past gives her a gift for understanding crimes and criminals as she becomes enmeshed in fast-paced, high-octane adventures and island intrigue.
Cat must also deal with old friends, enemies, and lovers including an FBI agent ex-husband, the gang boss she put in jail, and a police detective lover who is in over his head in the “blue-sky” drama.
It is written by Ken Sanzel, who also exec produces. Sanzel, a former New York City cop, was the executive producer and showrunner on CBS’ Numbers and also worked on NYC 22 and Ironside.
Montgomery’s last TV series was the CBS and A&E police drama Unforgettable, which she also exec produced, and Without a Trace, which ran for seven seasons on CBS. Montgomery is repped by ICM Partners, Framework Entertainment and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham. Sanzel is repped by ICM Partners, Jeff Field and Ryan Nord.
Disney Media Distribution holds international rights.
