As usual, CBS was the Big 4 viewership victor (6.94 million) on Friday night and matched Fox’s 0.7/3 among adults 18-49 but the House of Moonves certainly felt a sting. Kicked off by the parental themed Season 2 finale of MacGyver (0.6/3) and followed by Hawaii Five-O (0.7/3) and Blue Bloods (0.7/3) CBS saw its entire Friday line-up fall to series lows in the fast affiliates.
Facing the Golden State Warriors 119-100 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans and the Houston Rockets 113-92 win over the Utah Jazz in the NBA Conference Semifinals on ESPN on Friday, the recently renewed Mr. Fix-It action series was down 14% among adults 18-49 from last week and dived 25% from its Season 1 ender of April 14, 2017. Also, up against playoff basketball, the 50th state cop series and the Tom Selleck led NYPD family drama took a hit of 22% and 13% respectively among the key demo from their April 27 airings – again, series lows for all the just renewed shows. And yes, once again, Blue Bloods was the most watched show of the night with an audience of 7.7 million, a dip of 5% from last week.

Speaking of dips, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (0.4/2) was the same in the demo as its April 27 show but put its toe and more in the big screen world of Avengers: Infinity War with villain Thanos making a verbal appearance. The rest of ABC’s night wasn’t in such cross-promotion mode but on a Friday that saw almost no gains for anyone on any network. At 8 PM, Once Upon A Time (0.4/2) was down a tenth while 10 PM’s 20/20 (0.4/2) was unchanged from last week.
Back after the second round of the NFL Draft on Fox last Friday and seeing the still Murdoch owned net up a tenth overall, the 8- 10 PM Masterchef Junior (0.7/3) simmered 13% from its last original. While Dynasty (0.2/1) remained the same as last week on the CW, Life Sentence (0.2/1) was the only show to gain last night with a rise of a tenth from April 27.
No such luck for NBC as both Blindspot (0.5/3) and the 9 – 11 PM Dateline (0.7/3) didn’t move at all from last week.
