Freeform has tapped former Fox communications executive Erin Moody as vice-president, communications. In her new role, Moody will work closely with Tom Ascheim, president, Freeform, and be responsible for all strategic corporate communication efforts, consumer press campaigns, awards outreach and talent relations for the business unit. She’ll report to Kevin Brockman, EVP Global Communications, Disney|ABC Television. Moody replaces Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul who recently moved to Netflix.

“What impresses me most about Erin is her passion for communications, her infectious positive outlook and integrity, and the breadth of her experience,” said Brockman. “She approaches our craft with a unique point-of-view that is sure to complement and propel the team’s already stellar efforts.”

“In addition to Erin’s abundant talent and experience, what makes her a great addition to Freeform is that she is already a fan of our shows and network,” said Ascheim. “Her boundless enthusiasm and innate dynamism will make her a fantastic member of Freeform’s senior team.”

Moody moves to Freeform from 20th Century Fox TV where she most recently served as executive director of communications. During her tenure there she led the campaigns for high-profile television series such as The X-Files, How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, The Carmichael Show, 24: Live Another Day, Prison Break, Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville and the Emmy-nominated Genius series from Fox 21 and Imagine Entertainment.

A significant part of Moody’s career at Fox was spent in feature film publicity where she oversaw the field strategy and execution for the Western Region for 90 studio releases, including Oscar and Golden Globe winners Avatar and Walk the Line, two X-Men films and hits Night at the Museum, The Devil Wears Prada and The Simpsons Movie. She also spent time working for director Robert Rodriguez at his Troublemaker Studios. Beyond her work in communications, Moody spent several years in marketing roles, including positions at Vans, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl and the A.D.D marketing agency, working in action sports and music with artists such as Outkast, Pharrell Williams, Linkin Park and the Beastie Boys.

“Having the opportunity to work with respected industry leaders, such as Kevin and Tom, is a true privilege,” said Moody. “I am thrilled to be joining the incredible team at Freeform who is creating the most exciting content, championing distinct voices and reaching young adult audiences in an authentic way.”
