Ian Lake has joined Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, Gary Cole, Kathy Baker, Ryan Keira Armstrong and Martin Donovan in the film adaptation of Garth Stein’s bestselling novel, The Art Of Racing In The Rain, from Fox 2000. It’s the story of aspiring race car driver Denny (Ventimiglia) and the loves of his life – his wife, Eve, their young daughter Zoe, and ultimately, his true best friend, Enzo (Kevin Costner), who understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life. The film is currently in production with Simon Curtis directing from a script by Mark Bomback. Lake will play Mike, a friend of Denny. Producers are Neal H. Moritz, Patrick Dempsey, and Tania Landau with Donald J. Lee and Joannie Burstein serving as executive producers. Lake, who recurred in the Lifetime series Mary Kills People and The Girlfriend Experience on Starz, is repped by The Characters Talent Agency.
Castle alum Tamala Jones has joined Taraji P. Henson in the Adam Shankman-directed, What Men Want, Paramount Player’s a flip on Nancy Meyers 2000 rom-com What Women Want starring Mel Gibson as a guy who could hear women’s thoughts. In theaters January 11, this version follows a female sports agent (Henson) who has been constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. She gains the power to hear mens’ thoughts and she is able to shift the paradigm to her advantage as she races to sign the NBA’s next superstar. Jones, who starred in eight seasons of ABC’s crime drama Castle, will play Henson’s friend Mari. Will Packer and James Lopez are producing via Will Packer Productions.
