Fox has picked up to series two drama pilots, post apocalyptic saga The Passage and legal procedural Proven Innocent, and two comedy ones — both multi-camera — The Cool Kids, set at a retirement home, and Lil Rel Howery starrer Rel. They will join the Last Man Standing revival.
Of the rest, I hear single-camera comedy pilot Dan the Weatherman, starring Thomas Lennon, is still in contention for a pickup. I hear it also may be reworked, including possible reshoots/repiloting for midseason consideration. I hear romantic musical drama Mixtape, which had a number of fans at Fox, would likely be shopped to streaming platforms. The untitled Ilene Chaiken/Melissa Scrivner Love FBI drama starring Katie Holmes, and the Erin Foster comedy, are still believed to be in play at Fox, with the latter also rumored as a possibility for a streaming platform like Hulu. The remaining two pilots, drama Gone Baby Gone and comedy Our People are dead.
As a reminder, Fox also has two comedy pilots that will film off-cycle, the Lake Bell/Liz Meriwether’s single-camera Bless This Mess and a multi-cam from Rob McElhenney and Rob Rosell.
