
The Twitterverse is exploding with reaction following the cancellation of cult comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Fox. Cast members, producers, and famous fans including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Seth Meyers and Mark Hamill are sharing their sadness on Brooklyn‘s ending after five seasons.
Co-creator/executive producer Dan Goor thanked fans for their “incredible outpouring of support.” Cast member Melissa Fumero said she is “still processing” the news, “don’t have all the words.. but.. These last 5 years have been incredible,” she wrote.
Co-star Stephanie Beatriz paid tribute to the show’s fans. “Squad, we love you… Your sadness is noted,” Beatriz wrote.
Seth Meyers tweeted his sadness over both Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Last Man on Earth being axed, writing “News on @Brooklyn99FOX and @LastManFOX is a double gut punch. Two great shows with hilarious writing and terrific ensembles.”
Mark Hamill screamed on Twitter, “Oh NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I”m SO not ready to say #ByeBye99.”
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted“RENEW BROOKLYN NINE-NINE. I ONLY WATCH LIKE 4 THINGS. THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS.”
