Sources have confirmed to Deadline that Tambor, who has won multiple Emmys for his role as Maura Pfefferman on the Jill Soloway comedy-drama, will not be in the running for this years Emmy as the streaming giant has pulled his name out of consideration. The news was first reported by fellow PMC site, Gold Derby.
In February, Tambor was officially ousted from the Amazon series after being accused of sexual harassment. Prior to the announcement of his departure, Tambor said “I don’t see how I can return to Transparent,” citing the growing claims against him and “the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set.”
Tambor was a two-time Emmy winner for his role in Transparent. He also won a Golden Globe for his performance. No word yet on whether Netflix and Fox will do the same for his supporting role in Arrested Development.
