Viacom Digital Studios announced a slate of original programming — starring comedians Majah Hype and Nikki Glaser, and Jersey girl Snooki — at the studio’s inaugural Digital Content NewFront presentation.
The studio, a major priority for parent Viacom, is looking to re-imagine its brands for a new generation of audiences. Notably, there was barely a mention of the linear TV platform during the entire hour-long event. Instead, a series of YouTube stars including Liza Koshy and JoJo Siwa took turns onstage, focusing short remarks on MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET.
“There have been a lot of familiar faces onstage,” said Hank Green, co-founder of VidCon, the online video creators conference acquired recently by Viacom.

“We’re bringing the power and scale of Viacom’s global content engine and storytelling capabilities to entertain and engage our fans whenever and wherever they’re consuming content,” studio President Kelly Day said.
The new content slate includes The Majah Hype Show, a weekly sketch comedy show that will provide a humorous take on news and culture for YouTube; You Up? with Nikki Glaser, a weekly show highlighting celebrity news (inspired by her daily morning show for SiriusXM Comedy Central Radio) for Facebook Watch; and Cooking in the Crib with Snooki, which adds a new flavor to the Cribs franchise for MTV’s YouTube channel.
Also in the offing are animated shorts The JoJo & BowBow Show for YouTube, featuring the Nickelodeon’s JoJo Siwa and her furry best friend.
Green also announced that VidCon, which has expanded from its flagship summer event in Anaheim, will hold its first conference in London.
