Undercover Boss producer Studio Lambert will focus more of its attention on the U.S. market with Head of Development Jack Burgess receiving a promotion and a transfer to Los Angeles.
Burgess, who has been involved in the creation of shows including Naked Attraction and Gogglesprogs, will lead the All3Media-backed indie’s non-scripted drive in the U.S. after becoming SVP Development and Current, Los Angeles.
Studio Lambert has sold a number of non-scripted projects to U.S. broadcasters including Undercover Boss to CBS, which recently launched a celebrity edition, as well as UK format Gogglebox to Bravo, which aired it as The People’s Couch. It now hopes that Burgess’ move will bolster this.
Burgess will report to Studio Lambert U.S. President Greg Goldman as well as UK non-scripted boss Tim Harcourt, the company’s Creative Director. Burgess joined Studio Lambert in 2014, having previously worked in development at NBCUniversal International in London.
“Jack has been extremely successful running our UK unscripted development team over the last few years,” said Studio Lambert CEO Stephen Lambert. “I’m confident in his new L.A.-based role he will be equally successful, by building on his knowledge of both markets and ensuring our unscripted development effort on both sides of the Atlantic are working closely together to create hits.”
“We are launching some very ambitious new unscripted formats in the UK this year,” continued Lambert, “and having Jack in L.A. to work with Greg and Tim on transferring them to the U.S. market will be very helpful.”
