Actor-producer Michael Hitchcock (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) is set for a recurring role opposite Kristin Chenoweth and Nicholas D’Agosto on the upcoming second season of NBC’s anthology comedy series Trial & Error.
Created by Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller, Trial & Error is a spoof of crime documentaries, which follows a case through trial.
Per NBC’s description, the second season of this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (D’Agosto), still relatively a newcomer in a tiny southern town, who is sturdily posed for his next big case there. His mission? To defend the eccentric first lady of East Peck, Lavinia Peck-Foster (Chenoweth), known for her flamboyant outfits, large hats and hairless cat, and who suddenly finds herself accused of the bizarre murder of her beloved husband.”
Friday Ratings: CBS Scores With 'Whistleblower,' ABC With 'Marvel Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D'
Hitchcock will play Jesse Ray Beaumont. A genius, paranoid horologist from the Deep South, Jesse was tried and convicted for the murder of Lavinia’s (Chenoweth) brother Chet nine years ago.
Hitchcock currently is an executive producer on the hit CW series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and previously served as a co-executive producer on Fox’s Glee. On the feature side, he’ll next be seen in the Disney comedy Magic Camp. Hitchcock is repped by UTA.
Season 2 of Trial & Error premieres July 19 on NBC.
