The James Cameron-produced, Tim Miller-directed untitled Terminator will open the Friday before Thanksgiving on November 22, 2019. Terminator moves on to date that is currently occupied by an untitled Fox/Marvel project.
Skydance is financing and producing the project, which Paramount is distributing domestically and Fox has for international.
The feature was originally scheduled to be released on July 26 next year. We hear the release-date change was in the works well before Arnold Schwarzenegger had heart surgery last week.
At SXSW, Schwarzenegger who is reprising his role as the star cyborg, mentioned that production is starting up this summer in Spain for Terminator. He also joked that Donald Trump has a cameo in the movie: “The T800 travels back to 2019 to get Trump out of prison!”
Cameron, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are producing. Screenwriters are David S. Goyer, Josh Friedman, Billy Ray and Justin Rhodes.
