Ana Bond has joined Sony Pictures TV as SVP and managing director, international production, Latin America. She succeeds Angélica Guerra, who left last month to go Apple.
Bons, who comes from W Studios, will be based in Miami and will oversee the company’s production business across the region, including SPT’s joint venture entities Teleset in Colombia and Floresta in Brazil. She will report to Wayne Garvie, president of international production at SPT.
“Ana’s a well-respected leader in the tight-knit community in Latin America,” said Garvie. “Her years of experience across all areas of the industry and her innate business background are essential to this role, and I’m delighted to welcome her to SPT’s international production family.”
Bond was most recently SVP Business & Strategy at W Studios, a Spanish-language production joint venture between Univision Communications and producer Patricio Wills. In her role, she supported all areas of the company and was instrumental in developing new business strategies and pursuing new clients, partners and co-producers domestically as well as internationally. Before that, Bond was VP Business Development and Legal Affairs for RTI Productions in Miami and VP Business & Music Affairs at Telemundo Network Group LLC, overseeing Business Affairs matters for the International Division of Telemundo. At Telemundo, Bond also held multiple positions in the legal department, including Corporate Counsel, Media Counsel and Senior Director of Business & Legal Affairs.
Prior to joining Telemundo, Ana worked for the Caracas office of Steel Hector & Davis, a law firm headquartered in Miami, now part of Cleveland-based Squire Sanders & Dempsey LLP.
