The gang is back together again. The cast of CBS’ upcoming Murphy Brown revival has reunited and we’re seeing them for the first time. Star Candice Bergen posted the photo Thursday night on Instagram with a caption reading “MURPHY BROWN…together again. Coming to your neighborhood TV in the fall. Just in time…” Check it out below and compare to the vintage cast photo above.
Pictured in the photo are Bergen, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, Grant Shaud, returning writer and executive producer Diane English and newcomer Nik Dodani. Noticeably absent is new cast member Jake McDorman, who will play the key role of Murphy Brown’s grown-up son, Avery. Maybe he took the photo?
CBS gave a 13-episode series order to the current-day revival, which will come on the 30th anniversary of the original series. Ford returns as perky anchor Corky Sherwood, Regalbuto as investigative reporter Frank Fontana and Shaud as executive producer Miles Silverberg. They join star Bergen, who is back as the famous investigative journalist and TV anchor at the FYI network. Warner Bros. TV, which was behind the original series, is the sole studio.
