Who needs a superhero when you have a.. Johnny English? Universal and Working Title have just dropped the first trailer for newly titled Johnny English Strikes Again. The third installment in the lucrative franchise which will see British spy English (played by Rowan Atkinson) take his very particular set of anti-skills to the south of France following a major cyber attack.
The new adventure begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving English as the Secret Service’s last hope. Called out of retirement, he dives head first into action with the mission to find the mastermind hacker. A man of analogue methods, English must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success.
The production will be hoping for similar success to the first two movies, which both crossed $150m worldwide. Director on Strikes Again is David Kerr from a script by William Davies. Producers are Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Chris Clark while Atkinson is joined in the cast by Ben Miller, Olga Kurylenko, Emma Thompson and Jake Lacy. Pic rolls out from October.
