EXCLUSIVE: Goldcrest Films has acquired all international rights to modern gothic psychological thriller Look Away by writer/director Assaf Bernstein. India Eisley, Jason Isaacs and Mira Sorvino star with sales starting in Cannes next month. Goldcrest will show first-look footage to buyers. The film is currently in post-production. The chilling story centers on a timid and reclusive 18-year-old high school student alienated by her parents and ruthlessly rejected by her peers. Desperate and isolated, she confides in her own reflection — and in the mirror she finds her imagined evil twin, someone who supports her, encourages her and knows all her secret desires. When the “girls” trade places, repressed sexuality and a ferocious violence erupt with a dangerous sense of freedom.

Bernstein directed the pilot for Cinemax series Warrior and is set to direct the adaptation of Stephen King’s Rose Madder. His other credits include The Debt and Netflix’s Fauda.

Look Away is produced by Dana Lustig, Brad Kaplan at Primary Wave and Gig Kaplan. North American sales are being handled by Endeavor Content which negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers with Harry White of Goldcrest.
