Frozen, which already has a large pit orchestra of 21, will be expanded even further for the cast recording to 44 musicians, including a string section of 22.
Following previous Disney Theatrical adaptations of Aladdin and The Lion King, which continue to draw strong crowds on Broadway, Frozen opened March 22 at the St. James Theatre. Based on the 2013 film, which won Oscars for Best Song (“Let It Go”) as well as Best Animated Feature, the Broadway show has also posted free videos of four of the 12 new songs that were written for the Broadway show.
Michael Grandage, a Tony-winning stage vet, is the director of Frozen.
The total cast exceeds 40 people, but principal cast members include Jelani Alladin, Greg Hildreth, John Riddle, Robert Creighton, Kevin Del Aguila, Timothy Hughes, Andrew Pirozzi, Audrey Bennett, Mattea Conforti, Brooklyn Nelson, Ayla Schwartz, Alyssa Fox, Aisha Jackson and Adam Jepsen.
