Bad Robot has brought in Fox’s head of event series Rachel Rusch as SVP Television. She will report to Ben Stephenson, Bad Robot’s Head of Television, and will work across the company’s slate of current series in development and production, including the upcoming new series Castle Rock on Hulu and Lovecraft Country on HBO, in addition to developing new projects.
“I’m really excited that Rachel is joining the Bad Robot TV department,” Stephenson said. “We’ve got loads of big plans for the future, and Rachel’s experience, taste and relationships with writers are second to none.”
At Bad Robot, former Warner Bros. TV exec Matthew King was recently credited as SVP Television. Kathy Lingg was previously a TV executive before segueing to the role of a producer at Bad Robot when Stephenson arrived. She has since left the company.
Rusch most recently served as VP of Event Series for Fox Broadcasting Company, where she oversaw limited series and live events including Shots Fired, Prison Break, The X-Files, and Wayward Pines, as well as the highly-rated live musical Grease: Live, fellow musical specials A Christmas Story Live, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the upcoming Rent. Before her move to Fox in 2015, Rusch was Director of Development for Fabrik Entertainment, where she oversaw production for Amazon’s hit drama series, Bosch. Prior to that, Rusch spent five years at Fox Television Studios, where she oversaw development and production on FX’s The Americans, The Killing for AMC/Netflix, and USA’s White Collar and Sirens.
