Adam Ray (Curb Your Enthusiasm) is set for a recurring role on Season 2 of Netflix’s true-crime satire American Vandal, from Funny or Die, 3 Arts Entertainment and CBS TV Studios. Co-created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the documentary-style investigation centers on recent events in a high school. Ray will play Officer Crowder, a resident police officer who has been at the school for over 15 years. He’s very good at his job and takes pride in the fact that the school is one of the safest in the Pacific Northwest. Ray’s recent television credits include HBO’s Ballers and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Netflix’s Arrested Development. On the film side, Ray will be seen in the upcoming Jennifer Lopez feature Second Act and Netflix’s Game Over Man and Handsome. Ray is repped by APA and Avalon Management.
Karl Makinen (The Walking Dead) has booked a recurring role opposite Rupert Friend, Jack Reynor and Bella Heathcote in Strange Angel, CBS All Access’ upcoming original drama series from Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions and CBS TV Studios. Created by Mark Heyman based on George Pendle’s book of the same name, 1930s-set Strange Angel is inspired by the real-life story of Jack Parsons (Reynor) and explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction. Makinen will play General Braxton. A straight shooting member of the greatest generation, General Braxton works for the Army Air Corps and becomes increasingly interested in Jack and Richard’s nascent rocketry project, an interest that will change the trajectory of all their lives. Makinen was seen in a major recurring role on The Walking Dead last season and appeared in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks for Showtime. He’s repped by Alan Siegel Entertainment and Clear Talent Group.
