Alicia Coppola (Shameless) has been cast in Andrea Berloff’s New Line film, The Kitchen, starring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss. Domhnall Gleeson, Margo Martindale, Bill Camp and Brian d’Arcy James also co-star in the DC/Vertigo comic book based film about wives of Irish mobsters who team up to take over running the business after their husbands are arrested and sent to prison. Michael De Luca is the producer on this project. Coppola, who recently recurred on NCIS: Los Angeles, will play Maria Coretti, the wife of mob boss played by Camp. The Kitchen bows in theaters September 20, 2019. Coppola is repped by Leslie Allan-Rice Management, Kazarian/Measures/Ruskin & Associates, and attorney Derek Kroeger.
Devon Bostick is set for a supporting role in the film adaptation of Julia Walton’s debut novel, Words On Bathroom Walls, which Thor Freudenthal is directing. Written by Nick Naveda, the pic stars Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World) as Adam, a high school student living with paranoid schizophrenia and battling wild hallucinations who joins an experimental drug trial that promises to help hide his illness. Bostick will play Joaquin, a regular figure of Adam’s hallucinations who represents Adam’s unfiltered raging hormones. LD Entertainment financing and Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon are producing. Bostick, whose credits include CW’s The 100 and the Netflix film, Okja, is repped by Innovative.
Actor Jim Klock has joined Armie Hammer, Dakota Johnson, Zazie Beetz, Brad William Henke and Karl Glusman in New Orleans for Annapurna’s untitled thriller written and directed by Babak Anvari. Set for release March 29, 2019, the pic follows a New Orleans bartender (Hammer) who, after picking up a cell phone left behind in his bar, experiences a series of disturbing and inexplicable events begin to unravel his life. Its based on Nathan Ballingrud’s novel The Visible Filth. Lucan Toh of Two & Two Pictures and Christopher Kopp of AZA Films are producing along with Annapurna. Klock’s upcoming projects include Peter Farrelly’s Green Book, the Keanu Reeves-produced Green Dolphin, and a recurring role in Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger. He’s repped by Zero Gravity Management.
