Netflix has slotted Friday, May 18, for the Season 2 premiere of 13 Reasons Why.

Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of the characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous Polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.

As previously announced, in preparation for the launch of Season 2, Netflix has added new resources to 13ReasonsWhy.info, including an updated Discussion Guide and a new Discussion Series — a set of videos where cast members address issues in the series including bullying, sexual assault and drug abuse.

The added resources came in response to criticism by some mental health experts who say the show, which deals with teen suicide, bullying, drunk driving and rape in graphic detail, could pose health risks for certain young people, especially those with suicidal thoughts.

The series, based on showrunner Brian Yorkey’s adaptation of the best-selling novel, revolves around the unexplained suicide of Hannah Baker — which was shown up close — and the 13 audiotapes she left behind for her classmates.
