Sarah Jessica Parker Joins Kristin Davis Endorsing ‘Sex And The City’ Co-Star Cynthia Nixon In NY Gov Race

In these Donald Trump times, in which TV stars can become President of the United States, early endorsements by cast members can be a deal breaker.

No wonder media has been watching closely to see whether Cynthia Nixon’s Sex and the City colleagues would give her quick backing.

As of writing, Kim Cattrall is the only Sex and the City star holding out on a full-throated endorsement of Nixon’s bid to become Governor of New York.

Nixon announced her first first foray into electoral politics, going up against two-term Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in the Dem primary, on March 19. It ended weeks of speculation she would throw her hat into the ring.

Sarah Jessica Parker finally got on board today – 10 days later:

Quite an improvement over previous day, when all the New York Post could squeeze out of Divorce star SJP was a tepid: “Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls. I look forward to talking to her about her New York state gubernatorial bid.”

In marked contrast, Kristin Davis had jumped on board immediately:

That leaves Cattrall the odd woman out. So far she’s contributed the meh message, “I support & respect any former colleague’s right to make their own career choices.”

Fox News characterized that statement as “dismissive,” in an online report. But Cattrall showed them what “dismissive” looks like, in a retweet that said, “Funny how @FoxNews considers the words ‘I support and respect’ as dismissive.”
