
Graphic novelist Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez has announced that his original superhero La Borinqueña, will team up with comic book characters from DC Comics in Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico a comics anthology created to benefit ongoing relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The story will contain stories from Puerto Rican and Latinx celebrities including Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Rubén Blades (Fear the Walking Dead), Javier Muñoz (Hamilton), Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street), and others.

Ricanstruction is a collection of original stories that not only delve into the past and explore the beautiful history of Puerto Rico but also envision a stronger and rebuilt island. In addition to Dawson, Blades, Muñoz, and Manzano, the series will also feature some of the most acclaimed names in Hollywood and comic book industry including Reginald Hudlin, Greg Pak, Gail Simone, Denys Cowan, Gabby Rivera, Jorge Jimenez, Chris Sotomayor and more. The anthology will feature the aforementioned La Borinqueña teaming up with some of the most iconic superheroes of all time including Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash, Harley Quinn, and others.
The anthology is available for pre-order now and will debut on May 18 in San Juan, PR at Puerto Rico Cómic Con. It will be released nationally on May 23. 100% of the proceeds from this anthology will go to the continued work to help over three million Americans living in Puerto Rico as they recover from Hurricane Maria.
