Patrick Renna (The Sandlot) is set for a recurring role on the upcoming second season of GLOW, Netflix’s hit 1980s wrestling comedy. Set in 1985 Los Angeles, GLOW follows Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), a struggling out-of-work actress who auditions for, trains and eventually makes TV’s first women’s wrestling show. Renna will play Cupcake, a socially awkward GLOW superfan who is also an enthusiastic baker. GLOW is created and executive produced by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, and executive produced by Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann. Renna is known for his breakout role in Fox’s The Sandlot, which will be celebrating the film’s 25th Anniversary next month. He recently starred in and produced the dark comedy feature Bad Roomies. Renna is repped by Ellis Talent Group and Joel Stevens Entertainment Company.
'Counterpart' Not Getting Third Season On Starz, Shopped To Other Nets By MRC
Eme Ikwuakor (Inhumans) has booked a recurring role on Season 2 of Starz’s spy thriller Counterpart. Created, written, and executive produced by Justin Marks, Counterpart is about a mysterious world hidden beneath the surface of our everyday existence. It stars Simmons as Howard Silk, a lowly cog in the bureaucratic machinery of a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency. Ikwuakor will play Yorke, Management’s enigmatic fixer. Ikwuakor played Gorgon on Marvel’s Inhumans and can currently be seen recurring on the Netflix series On My Block. He’s repped by The Priluck Company and Gersh.
